Vodafone has announced a pack for new customers, offering 1GB data daily for 70 days.
Vodafone India has announced a new pack for customers priced at Rs 244. The pack comes with a validity of 70 days, and offers users 1GB 4G or 3G data daily. Along with data, there is also free unlimited calling and SMS offered to Vodafone users. However, the pack does come with one major catch — it is only for new customers and existing customers cannot avail the benefits of the new pack. The Rs 244 pack is a long term offer. However, the 70-day validity comes only with the first recharge. From the second recharge onwards, the validity is reduced to half — 35 days.
There is also a second plan announced by Vodafone, and that is the Rs 346 pack. Under the pack, the benefits offered are greater. The validity of the pack is 56 days and the pack comes with 56GB data — FUP of 1GB data per day. As a part of the pack, users can also avail free calls to customers over any other network — however, the calling is restricted to 300 minutes per day, and 1,200 minutes per week. The pack is also for new users. Even post the first recharge, users can avail the same benefits for other subsequent recharges too.
Apart from the two packs. Vodafone India is also offering up to five percent cashback in the form of talktime for users recharging the Rs 244 and Rs 346 pack using My Vodafone app. The new Rs 244 plan is very similar to Airtel‘s Rs 244 recharge pack which comes with the same benefits — 1GB 4G/3G data per day along with unlimited Airtel-to-Airtel calling (local and STD) with the 300 minutes daily, and 1,200 minutes weekly cap for a period of 70 days. The plan was announced back in April. Airtel also has two other plans of Rs 345 and Rs 399. While the Rs 399 pack simply increases the number of free minutes offered, the Rs 345 pack offers 2GB data daily and 3,000 minutes free for 70
In comparison, Reliance Jio Prime users can get similar benefits for Rs 309, which comes with a validity of 56 days. As a part of the pack, users can avail 1GB 4G data per day along with free calling and SMS over any network in the country. The Rs 399 pack comes with similar benefits but with an extended validity for 84 days. Since the launch of Reliance Jio, there has been a disruption in the Indian telecom market with network operators scrambling to slash rates. Each new plan of Reliance Jio is soon countered by rivals and the latest Vodafone plan counters Jio as well as Airtel.
Apart from the plan, the Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved of the merger between Vodafone India and Idea Cellular in the country. The merger has been welcomed by both the companies, and talking of the merger, the companies said, “The proposed combination of Vodafone India and Idea will create a new champion of Digital India. We remain fully committed to fulfilling the Digital India vision of the Honourable Prime Minister and the government and will connect villages, towns and cities across India with world class 4G/4G+ networks. The continuing ease of doing business in the country helps ensure that this vision for a digitally connected India is fast becoming a reality.”
